Year built 1994
Location of boat Midland, Ontario
The boat is sailed on The Great Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? Yes
Owner bought the boat in 2022
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. We have done a lot of reconfiguration to equip it for extended cruising.
Gear that's been added Tank monitors, remote VHF. Two battery banks - starting, and AGM in parallel. Smart charger. Low voltage fridge.
Structural or complex improvements Not yet.
The boat's best features Cockpit, stern berth, and galley table are quite big.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Rear starboard locker collects water. Minor cracks in deck finish.Floor below water heater has deteriorated.
Sailing characterisitcs Everything is excellent except raising the main is difficult. Have invested in a power winch system (drill-based).
Motoring characterisitcs Motors fine. The Yanmar is noisy and takes forever to cool down.
Liveability Excellent! No desire for a bigger boat.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A
Other comments We installed a lazy jack system. Great upgrade!
