Review of the Hunter 29.5 by Travis Martin

Year built 1994
Location of boat Clinton Lake, Lawrence, Kansas
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2009
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes!
Gear that's been added We've added a new Bimini. Replaced the running rigging with low strech line.
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features It is very fast and jumps off the line in a good wind. We love the huge cockpit and roominess in the cabin.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I'm having a difficult time sealing up the cabin to keep the windows from leaking.
Sailing characterisitcs She loves a 10-15 knot breeze. Above that we put in the first reef.
Motoring characterisitcs Good motoring characteristics. No problems
Liveability Very "liveable", but we use the boat for daysailing only.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I've emailed Hunter to aske questions about the mast and what type of paint to use for touch up. They have been very responsive, and have even called me back on the same day afer I've asked an email question.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Purchased from an individual
Other comments We would just like to have more time to spend sailing her.
