Review of the Hunter 40 by Kit Bradley

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes  
Gear that's been added All running gear has been replaced with Garhuer Stainless steel cars, line clutches, ridgid boom vang.  
Structural or complex improvements Removed forward head and turned it into hanging locker with shelves and drawers.  
The boat's best features Ease sailing single handed, fast,large comfortable main and after cabins.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. None so far.  
Sailing characterisitcs Fast, especially in light air with a 150% genoa  
Motoring characterisitcs With the Yanmar 50 HP and adding 2" to the prop pitch, the boat will maintain 6.5+ knots to windward in 25 plus knot winds and when you hit reverse, the boat stops, then will back down fast.  
Liveability For two week periods, with 2 people, great cruising boat.
