| The boat's best features | I like the boat for the most part. |
| Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. | I am really frustrated with my rudder popping up on me, usually when I am catching some good wind. I also think the 260 is a great boat in low wind but the water ballast concept doesn't doesn't put my center of gravity low enough like a fixed keel would. |
| Sailing characterisitcs | When we took the boat for a test sail we were on Long Island sound with 15 knott winds. We were sailing with the main reefed down, no jib out and heeled over quite a bit. I was loving it, my wife wasn't. Since then we have been sailing on Pymatuning Lake in PA any have only experienced 5 to 10 knott winds. I am hopeing to move the boat to Lake Erie this year but my wife says she isn't ready. Oh well, guess we will be back at Pymatuning, but I will still try to slip in a couple trips to Lake Erie. |
| Motoring characterisitcs | I have experienced no problems motoring the boat. |
| Liveability | It's been ok so far. The biggest frustration is that the lake I am on does not offer a pump out station so we can not use the marine head. |
| The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) | I haven't had to deal with hunter yet. |
| The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any | I was disapointed that the boat wasn't ready when it was suppose to be. I got it six weeks later than promised. Some of the extra equipment I have had to change since it was installed because of the installer not having experience with a 260. The biggest disapointement was the boat was filthy when I got it. The dealer kept telling me he was going to get it cleaned up but by the time I had to leave with the boat only a surface job had been done. |
