Review of the Hunter 240 by amstaudenmaier

Year built 1999
Location of boat inland Ohio
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, once we figured out all the bells and whistles. There are several important kinks to get worked out on a new boat for optimum use like centerboard painter ease of use, self-limiting shackles, etc. And a bimini is indispensable. Once you can get those important things done, it's a very pleasant boat to sail and race.
Gear that's been added Shackles that stay together (i.e., pin won't fall out in the water by accident) Raised, angled Cleats for jib sheets Bimini and mast-head fly
Structural or complex improvements Adjusted and fared the passageway for centerboard painter. Also added larger block. Still very difficult to raise.
