Review of the Hunter 240 by Bart Ford

Owner bought the boat in 1999  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I would not have brought such a big new boat. Although I have always wanted a boat I could put in the water on friday night, sleep on, sail all weekend, and come home on Sunday. I have found that the spouse and daughters don't like the heel of a sailboat and the grandsons want it to go faster.  
Gear that's been added I have added a depth sounder, and have plans to put a bimini and a sailcover on this summer.  
Structural or complex improvements  
The boat's best features  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The location of the motor. It is real bugger to get to. Remote controls would be great.  
Sailing characterisitcs Sails great on a reach but the downwind performance is limited because the spreader configuration. The spreader are made like this because the boat is trailerable and the mast is steppable.  
Motoring characterisitcs Performs well but motor location sucks  
Liveability  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) The first year, while the boat was under warranty they bent over backwards to help, a lot more than my dealer did. After the warranty ran out, I have HUnter is friendly, but really not interested.
