Being that Im a lazy person I installed a trailer winch on the top of the rudder. Now one crank and it is down in place and held there for sailing no more popping up. Then when you want to trailer, just flip the winch lever and one crank and it is up NO MORE pulling on the rope for up and down movements - just crank. Now my wife can even do it. Dont forget get to get a stainless steel winch for rust reasons. Some winches have handles that can be removed. Nice clean job looks like it belongs there. Picture will come later.
