Review of the Hunter 320 by Bruce Grant

Year built 2000
Location of boat Grapevine Texas
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2000
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, I would, the boat is great, there is a lot of space both above and below decks.
Gear that's been added Cockpit Cushions, some people just won't sail naked without them!
Structural or complex improvements None needed so far.
The boat's best features Small things make the differences here. For example the cabin light directly over the back access to the engine and stuffing box, light where you need it what a concept! Other things that are not noticable from the exterior are things like the cable conduits run from various areas of the boat, this makes pulling cables extremely easy. The access to the aft end of the boat through the aft berth is great, all tanks and hoses are easily accessable. And of course the SS Arch, when you are sailing, you don't notice its there and with the traveler controls at hand, you get great sail control. The stack pack is going to be great once the sail is trained to flake itself into the stack pack.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. So far so good. No major problems found.
Sailing characterisitcs Easy to sail, with the big main, early reefing is a must, the single line reefing make this a very easy thing to accomplish. Pointing is exceptional and the boat is very stable (deep keel option)
Motoring characterisitcs Easy to come up to hull speed, again very stable with limited prop walk in reverse (deep keel option)
Liveability I think this boat would be very easy to live aboard with the proper additions (AC, Heat, oven etc.) I wouldn't want to raise a family on this boat, but a couple could make a go of it pretty easily
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Phenominal, exceptional, wonderful..... You get the idea. The folks at Hunter have contacted me directly to verify issues and get them corrected. They work very closely with my dealer (The great folks at La Vida Starships in Lewisville Texas)to quickly resolve any issues to my satisfaction. Hunter has been great to work with for my last boat and my new boat. You can't beat the customer service provided by Hunter
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any If you are in north Texas and want a Hunter, the only folks to talk to are the folks at La Vida Starships in Lewisville Texas. Fun and Friendly people who know how to deal with customers and provide exceptional service.
Other comments Its going to be hell to sell this boat for the 460 I some day want to buy.
