Review of the Hunter Vision-32 by Rick D.

Year built 1990
Location of boat Marina del Rey, Los Angeles CA
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1991
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. Was going for a Gulf 32 when wife pulled my chain. Of course, she was right again. Did not think it would sail and thought the interior also was not practical. 100 percent wrong on both counts.
Gear that's been added Lots. New bat slides. Cruise chute. Port cover canvas. Dodger and bimini. Day/night vents. Autohelm. Cockpit VHS. Galley stuff. Instument shelf. New water tank[s]-65 gal total. Upholstery.Shower sump. Varnished interior. Chrome table support. etc etc.
Structural or complex improvements New engine. Old one had a defective rod bolt according to surveyor. Will need to replace and recaulk cabin side ports.
The boat's best features Responsive, liveable, singlehandable, design synergy.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. ALUMINUM TANKS!!!! Replaced the water tank and its replacement because of crevice corrosion. Original batten caps and slides.
Sailing characterisitcs Up to 35 knots and 10-15 seas for 10 hours. We have taken many two week vacations. About 50 percent motoring on longer trips; mostly sail on weekends. Spend a lot of just r
Motoring characterisitcs Great. Dont like only idiot lights only and replaced [augmented with] guages. Exhaust riser tends to coke up --- look to it first if it starts to run hot.
Liveability Super. Hard to improve upon.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I have and have found them responsive and service oriented.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Repo.
