Location of boat Norwalk, CT.
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer

Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1999
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Sure would! We picked her up 4th of July weekend. We furnished her with our personal touches, stocked her with food and took off on a three week trip.
Gear that's been added ST 80 instruments at helm and Nav station. Raytheon Pathfinder Radar/Chartplotter mounted on the counsel.(see photo's in the Foto Forum). Autohelm autopilot, Northern Lights Generator 8KW, A/C
Structural or complex improvements The boat came with the full batten main. It goes up easily with the electric winch, but still have to go forward and yank it down. The main sail cover could be larger and doesn't fit too well up forward. I am switching to the in-mast furling at the end of the season. I always sail short handed and I am not concerned with the lose of sail area.
The boat's best features Terrific space below, and well thought out layout. We have the 3 cabin layout and use the 3rd cabin for storage. We converted the hanging locker in that cabin to a dry goods pantry. Engine and Generator are extremely quite in the cockpit. Very good water and fuel capacities. I only wish that there weren't 5 water tanks to contend with.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. A/C was initially a problem (it didn't work). These were a new model for Marine Air and there were high pressure switches that had to be changed. Generator kept blowing overload fuses (even with very little load). Battery cable connections not crimpped. (could of started a fire!) Tank guages not working. Anchor locker does not drain completely. Crack in gel coat by starboard chainplate, crazing in coaming, forward shower door had to be reversed so water would not leak into the cabin. Companion way slide cover leaks into cabin if water is sprayed forward. Noisy floor boards. There was some other minor stuff not worth mentioning.
Sailing characterisitcs Boat gets overpowered in 18knots of breeze (close hauled). Also has strong weather helm at that wind speed. Boat is very fast and is also pretty quick in light air. Not much wind on our 3 week trip so really good sailing has been limited.
Motoring characterisitcs The 76hp Yanmar will cruise at 8-81/2 knots at 3000rpm. Fuel usage at that speed (with some generator use also)has been about 2gph. She backs very well with very little prop walk. As I said before...very quite!
Liveability Excellent! Plenty of galley storage. Lots of storage in the cabins and even more below some of the floor boards. Could use a little more storage in the forward head.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Only called one time and that experience was very positive. I spoke with Eddie Breeden.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any We purchased the boat from Sailing Specialties in Mystic, CT. Both Fletcher Ryan and Jeff Marshall have been very accomodating and helpful. I would highly recomend them.
