Review of the Hunter 40.5 by Bob Willett

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? no i would have kept my 37.5

Structural or complex improvements had ash battens installed on sides of v berth and aft cabin to match main salonhad a tv built in in area between cabinets on starboard sidehad a microwave installed between cabinets in galley.had well built in cocpit floor to accomodate 52 inc wheel  
The boat's best features pricefinish in interior and interior space  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. water has leaked down supports under shroudsroller furling has eaten into deck surrounding furlerspeakers in cockpit kick out to easyspider cracks in gelcoat just above windos on coach rooflocks on cabin doors break to easy  
Sailing characterisitcs boat does not go to weather well tacks thru about 110 degreesnot a good performer  
Motoring characterisitcs no problems  
Liveability very good  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) helpful but hard to reach a human being
