Location of boat Solomoms, MD
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Multi-week coastal cruising
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1996
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, I would buy another Hunter 37. I like the boat very much.
Gear that's been added I have added refrigeration, Force 10 Propane cabin heat, Propane storage locker, Autohelm 4000 autopilot
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features Well laidout cabin area, good cruising setup.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. None, so far.
Sailing characterisitcs I have sailed this boat in a varity of seas and weather, with no worries about myself and crew. I feel that this boat could handle about anything below a hurricane. I am pleased with it's performance.
Motoring characterisitcs I have the Yanmar 30HP and I like it very much. It will push the boat well into 3-5 ft seas etc. i have a 2 blade prop now but am planning to switch to a 3 blade soon. Backing is not easy.
Liveability I live aboard my boat and it fits my requirements well.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I have dealt with Hunter several times in the past and have always had great service. I am pleased with them!
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any My broker was fine, no complaints.
