The boat's best features This is a quality, well thoughtout yacht that maximizes performance, reliability, good looks, and creature comforts. I have been impressed with the ergonomics, interior/exterior styling, attention to detail, and practicality. It is the first boat I have owned with more than enough storage space. Some irritants/problems reported by some owners have been taken care of e.g., near impossible to raise the mainsail. My 5'1
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The anchor road drop into the anchor locker is basically to short and the line will occassionally jam if you bring the anchor up too fast. The anchor must be raised in multiple, short hoisting steps with the electric windlass to prevent jams.
Sailing characterisitcs In a word this yacht is
Motoring characterisitcs The engine is quiet, reliable and powerful. We typically get from 6.6 to 7.6 knots in a steady sea state with 2900 to 3000rpm. The boat reponds well and backs almost like a car. We have yet to have problems backing into various slips because of the reponsiveness, keel, hull and rudder characteristics.
Liveability The H-376 is a luxury condo with sail. We are very comfortable aboard with adult son, daugters, and guests. We have ample storage and find the creature comforts: galley layout, stove, microwave, refrigeration/freezer, separate shower, tankage (yes there are gauges...no more messy overflowing holding tank problems), berths, privacy, fabrics, teak cabinetry, etc. create a relaxing secure ambience. Our sailing and non-sailing friends are always impressed with both the beauty of the layout and its functionality. Given that any boat will have compromises, the H-376 comes close to maximizing what is possible to do superbly well in a 37'sailing vessel.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) We ordered fabric to make comforters to match the v-berth and aft berth mattress covers. Hunter has been more than cooperative and courteous. This is our second Hunter and our 4 plus years of dealings have been outstanding. hunter understnds what customer satisfaction means.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any We bought the boat from Norton's Yacht Sales, Inc., Deltaville, VA. The entire experience from painless 10 minute negotiation to purchase, financing, through commissioning, sea trials,
