Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1996
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? YES. This my second Hunter, traded up from a 336. The376 is great. Experienced sailors/boat owners I've had out are very impressed with the boat. The only problem is the main sail equpment. Hunter may have changed some things to make sail raising easier. See my article - 376 main sail.
Gear that's been added Dealer package included inverter, refrigeration, depth, speed and the standard Hunter cruisepak. Added a windpoint wind speed, ST7000 auto pilot, GPS.
Structural or complex improvements Changed out factory installed Lewmar 40 for a 44 for the main halyard.
The boat's best features As I said 376 is a great design overall. Very comfortable for overnight or longer stay. Just as much fun to solo for a day sail.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Raising that big full batten MainSail!! I am hopeful that Hunter wil do something to help me with this. At 42 years old and in good health I should not be exhausted by raising the sail!!
Sailing characterisitcs Sails very well. Have learned to reef down at first indication.
Motoring characterisitcs 12 hours to Catalina. Set the GPS/Autopilot and go. Didn,t have to touch the boat until arrival.
Liveability
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
