Review of the Hunter 37 by John Moore

Year built 1986
Location of boat Blaine, WA
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Blue water, extended passages
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in WA
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? YES, it has served me well.
Gear that's been added Just about everything that could be added
Structural or complex improvements added extra fuel tank aft of rudder post
The boat's best features speed and stability
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. deck leaks
Sailing characterisitcs good to windward; have to pay attention in gale winds when running
Motoring characterisitcs does better after adding 3 bladed prop
Liveability very good
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) They have been helpful
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any I had to pay the difference in what Hunter allowed to correct defects in commissioning and what was charged by the dealer
