The boat's best features It has many of the features of the new models in terms of space, and at PHRF 111, when sailed properly, is the boat to beat! It moves well in all air, provided you start to reef at 12-14 knot apparent. I love the head, with more room than many of the newer boats. The ability to remove the Wheel and rear gate in the cockpit makes stern to the dock very conveinent, and the envy of many a boater.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The only comment is the difficulty I find getting around the wheel in the cockpit.
Sailing characterisitcs As long as you don't try to over power the boat with sail, it sails well. You can get 30 degrees apparent, but 35 degrees is practical.
Motoring characterisitcs I have a 2 bladed non-folding prop attached to a 35 Yanmar. In a calm situation, I approach 8 knots.
Liveability Excellent. Plenty of room at the table, and in the galley. The v-berth with vanity and locker has plenty of stretch room. The salon has a pilot berth that is for the slender or young, as well as a single on the port side. The master has the island queen. And storage everywhere.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Bought stanchions directly from the factory. Got a better price than the local yards. Also got what fit, with good delivery and service from the personnel.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought from a broker. This is our 1st boat in this size. We learned.
