Review of the Hunter 37 by John Irvine

Year built 1987
Location of boat NY
The boat is sailed on The Great Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1997
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes
Gear that's been added Updated roller furling, and updated dutchman system
Structural or complex improvements I changed the holding tank for the head it had a thousand pin holes in it.The only way to do this was to remove nav. stationpull bulkhead down and door frame for the head.
The boat's best features I can go and enjoy the boat while my friends are working on there teak!!!
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Leak in corner of anchor locker allowed deck to get wet from toe rail to center of locker, down along port side for a distance of eleven feet.ANY SUGGESTION ON HOW TO FIX???
Sailing characterisitcs Fast boat 7.3 on average just love it
Motoring characterisitcs a little noisey, I changed motor mounts and realligned shaft
Liveability I, My wife and our 3 children live on it for two weeks every summer and during the week we go down and stay on it as often as possible.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I've found that the boat has change so much that if you get information on how to fix or aproach a problem it my not work on you boat.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
