Review of the Hunter 35 by Bill Roos

Year built 1987
Location of boat NE River YC, Chesapeake
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Racing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1997
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? With the same resources and location, yes!
Gear that's been added GPS, TV, Instrumentation, etc.
Structural or complex improvements none
The boat's best features Performance with a shallow draft
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I have a problem with the concept of having a fractional rig, without backstay tentioning. I believe that these boats get overpowered due to forestay sag.
Sailing characterisitcs Fun, easy and responsive!
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability Excellent for a family of four for short cruises
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Tidewater in Havre de Grace were excellent, especially Bill Sawyer.
