Review of the Hunter 35.5 by Lawrence Leonard

Year built 1990
Location of boat Vermont Shore of Lake Champlain
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1997
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? We have wanted a 35.5 for some time. It is everything we wanted and more. We would buy this boat again
Gear that's been added Apparent WindDodger
Structural or complex improvements Added a small shelf
The boat's best features She is just plain fast! She motors well and docking
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The folding prop does need those extra rpm's to deploy in reverse, but it sure is nice when you're sailing. We have an extra holding tank, so we've taken care of that lack. We wish the helmsman seat was hinged in some way to make the walk-through transom truely walk-through.
Sailing characterisitcs In strong winds(25kts.
Motoring characterisitcs Read above.
Liveability Elaine
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I've only dealt with Jim Bohart. He has been great every time we've talked. He was really happy for Elaine
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Willsboro is a beautiful bay.B-R-F has more Hunters than you can shake a stick at!
