Location of boat Ensenada Mexico
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Weekends and longer

Liveaboard? March 98
Owner bought the boat in
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. We are having a great time with itbut we are thinking of trading up to a 376Hunter is the best value on the market
Gear that's been added Traveler on arch, Dodger, Deep Keel, Windlass, Refrigeration, Spinnaker gear,Autohelm 4000 , Garmin gps 180,Cockpit cusions, 3 batteries
Structural or complex improvements changed mainsheet to a 3:1 from 2:1makes it much easier to adjust the mainoff the winch when using the winch for the jib
The boat's best features inside usage of space. ventilation and lighting. Very comfortable boat inside and out. Very easy for the two of us to sail in all conditions.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. boomvang bracket pulled out of mast on the second time out. Lazy jack hangs up on battens when raising main. Fit and finish needs to be improved. Lots of gapsand scratches in woodwork.screws not tightend, screws bulging plywood We all know we didn't buy a Swan, but I thinkit could be improved
Sailing characterisitcs Sails very well on all points exept dead downwind. Feels very stable and responds goodVery large mainsail need to pay attentionas to when to reef
Motoring characterisitcs Motors at 6 to6.5 at 2900above 200 there is to much vibration andblack smoke without a noticable increasein speed. Backs up well, we always dockstern first to accses the boat through the transom
Liveability Great liveability for two in aft stateroom.Front vberth is a little short for most guest.Main cabin and galley are very large for this size boat. We use our boat almost weeklywith our longest stay four weeks
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Have had no reason to deal with Hunter
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any We bought our boat from H.S. in San Diegoand found there staff very helpfull and friendly. We will be back to get our next one from themand would recomend them
