Review of the Hunter 33.5 by Iva Uhland

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes I would buy this boat again with a few changes.  
Gear that's been added I purchased the boat from the origional owners who added a custom anchor platform and windlass, air conditioning and heat, autohelm, and refrigeration. I added lazyjacks, fuel guage with additional gear to be added this winter.  
Structural or complex improvements The anchor platform is a great improvement especially for someone like me who anchors out alot.  
The boat's best features Ease of sailing and handling the boat singlehand is also the result of added eqipment.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. It was a shame that it cost me over $200 to add a fuel guage, something that would have only costs pennies during construction. The undersized engine causes me some concern for late season and winter sailing. I don`t like not having a comfortable seat in the cockpit and not having a place to lay down in the cockpit. The interior cushions are thin and I plan to replace them.  
Sailing characterisitcs This boat sails well and easily. She tracks and needs little attention in moderate winds. This is a boat to sail and not try to motor to get from one place to another.  
Motoring characterisitcs The 16HP motor in this 33 foot boat is extremely undersized, but this motor is extremely reliable and easy to maintain. Under power this boat is slow unless I push up the RPM`s with resulting noise and vibrations. It is best to sail this boat and don`t depend on any speed from the motor to get to where you want to go.  
Liveability This is a big 33 footer inside.
