Review of the Hunter 23 by decktosser

Year built 1985
Location of boat Southwind Yacht Club, Milford, Kansas
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2018
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I think so, although I might consider another purchase of a Catalina 25. I liked that boat a lot.
Gear that's been added Bow cleat Lines led aft pressure water cockpit sole teak grid depth sounder companionway air conditioning sails cleaned by SailCare autopilot
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features I like the big boat layout of the H23
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
Sailing characterisitcs The boat sails very well...even in heavy weather
Motoring characterisitcs powered by a 6 hp Suzuki which seems to push her along at 5 knots without much effort
Liveability I live on the boat every weekend and sometimes during the week. Aside from the lack of standing head room, I am quite comfortable on the boat.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Never have.....
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any None
Other comments It is a nice boat and trailers quite well. Mast raising is not an issue and the launch and retrieval process goes quite smoothly.
