Review of the Hunter 41 by Valerio

Year built 2005
Location of boat Progreso yucatan mexico
The boat is sailed on
How the boat is used Blue water, extended passages
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2018
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, but only if i can find one used in ecxelent state.
Gear that's been added I have watermaker, panda gen, rear swim platform, davits, large bimini, charger
Structural or complex improvements Swim platafor, nice addition and an easy way to use the rear storage
The boat's best features Very roomy inside, stable, well balanced, easy to sail, safe because a high boom and short genoa.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. none more than normal use
Sailing characterisitcs Just did a four open days of navigation with strong wind, very stable and she is very dry, with roller main very easy to tune the boat.
Motoring characterisitcs My motor is the small one 40 hp, i usually motor at 2200 rpm at 5.2 knots but with strong wind ahead goes down to 3.5. Very noisy the back cabin, almost impossible to take a nap during nav.
Liveability Good but i allways need more sleeping space, the boat is disign for couple, as the foward cabin the berth is on one side, very uncomfortable to two friends. I hope they made the middle sofa as an additional berth but is too short.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I did not have one.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Owner to owner
Other comments This boat has no soul like the older boats, but is very well disign and at frist it seems to be a floating condo, but sails very well.
