Owner bought the boat in 1998
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, I would add the refrigeration unit.
Gear that's been added Apparent Wind IND (St50)Autohelm 4000 Garmin 128XL GPSJenson AM,FM,Cass,CD player with remoteSpeakers in the arch and belowWindow ShadesMainSheet TravelerDodger and Bimini Deep Keel
Structural or complex improvements Boom Vang brought back to cockpit. Presently when slack it chips grlcoat. Larger opening on starboard aft cabinet on swim platform. This would allow better access to the large storage area there.
The boat's best features Large cockpit, Large below deck, Ease of sailing solo or short handed.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Leaks on Chainplate and bilge pump drain hose. The drain hose had a hole in it which appears to have been created when bolting the Chain plate. You might want to check this. Located in the medicine cabinet (in Head) inspection cover.A couple of dings in gelcoat caused from shippingAll the problems were fixed quickly from the dealer and Hunter. (Within 2 weeks of receiving the boat)
Sailing characterisitcs Boat points very well and sails downwind well. I was originally concerned about the downwind sailing because of the B
Motoring characterisitcs Boat appears to have lot of vibration at 2600 and above. There is a calm spot at 2400 and another a 3100. With a following sea and wind boat get a little tricky to handle I was suprised of the small amount of prop wash in reverse.
Liveability Good, My wife and I sleep in the front berth and okay and Cozt (Newlyweds). The aft berth lacks headroom.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) The dealer dealt with Hunter abd scheduled them.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any I bought the boat from Sailing Specialties (www.sailingspecialties.com). They were very non pushy. They let me make my decision at my pace. A little slow on the delivery of the boat, But in their defence we had a Bad spring. They have been very responsive to any and all questions and problems that I had. Overall and excellent dealership.
