Year built 2008
Location of boat Battle Creek, Michigan
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2010
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes!
Gear that's been added Bungee net in bow to keep things secure. Suction cup, cup holders. Noodles in mast and boom, just in case. Small pulley on outhaul. Windex, very usefull. Boom Kicker, great when lowering sail.
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features Easy to board and sail.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The center board splash guards on the bottom cracked and fell apart. Ordered new and will replace next spring. Had to flip over the main sheet cam cleat to release upward.
Sailing characterisitcs She sails easily and is more stable than I expected. Heavy gusts have been easy to control with rudder and quick easing of the main sheet. Tacks well and will move in very light wind.
Motoring characterisitcs 2 HP Yamaha works great. Have used a 30lb. trolling motor in wind and works well. Used this after dark with a 120v. inverter and a string of christmas lights up and down the mast. What a hoot.
Liveability None
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Excellent
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Fine
Other comments No regrets.
