Review of the Hunter 240 by Sandy Grant

Year built 2002
Location of boat Brisbane Australia
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? As per my previous review.
Gear that's been added Since the last review I have added another 2 flexible 100 litre water tanks making 4 in total. That brings the extra water ballast to 400 litres and the total to 960 litres. The ballast to displacement ratio is now 50% v 30% before. These have made the boat much more sailable in the conditions here. It isn't nearly so tender and now sails like a proper yacht. The price is slower acceleration but she carries through the chop better with the added momentum. She also carries the cruising spinnaker better too. The added water also has the benefit of being plumbed in so we now have an outside shower.
