Review of the Hunter 27_75-84 by Barrett O

Year built 1984
Location of boat Grand Rivers, KY
The boat is sailed on Rivers
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2010
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Absolutely! I have regularly sailed on Pearsons, a nonsuch and various other boats, but this 27' Hunter Cherubini has everything that I am looking for in a classic all purpose sailboat. The style, space, and all around performance is far superior to any boat in its size and class.
Gear that's been added Harken Headsail Furler, Fancor Mainsail Furler, Mermaid Air, Guest Battery Charger, 20 AMP 11 Panel, Hyde Mainsail, Electronics
Structural or complex improvements Reinforced and insulated engine compartment, new motor mounts
The boat's best features Well rounded cruiser/racer with space and comfort.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. some leaky ports
Sailing characterisitcs
Motoring characterisitcs Smooth, efficient, relatively quiet with Westerbeke W13 2 cylinder motor
Liveability Very spacious for a 27', comfortable, airy and lots of light.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any It has been a tough experience, while our dealer has been incredibly anxious to make sure that we have had a good experience it has been a roller coaster ride with trying to get the boat where we want it to be functionally.
