Review of the Hunter 376 by Karl Walker

Year built 1996
Location of boat Oceanside, CA
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2010
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, it's the boat of our dreams.
Gear that's been added New nav screen, new fiberglass propane tanks
Structural or complex improvements Shortened boat to 37' exactly to pass port inspection, have a temp bow piece installed.
The boat's best features Lots of space, lots of storage. Ease of handling. Raising the main is a great aerobic and upper body workout.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. A few '14 year-old' problems...but no real problems.
Sailing characterisitcs Wants to be fast, just need to perfect mainsail trim. Both sails easily handled.
Motoring characterisitcs So far, the yanmar and I are good friends...santa needs to bring a 3 blade folding prop, but the 2 blade works fine....
Liveability It's our 'condo on the water'.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Kenzie at Dreamcather Yachts (Dana Point) was increadible throughout the entire purchase process. If you need a west coast liason, he's your guy!
