Review of the Hunter 25 by Bruce F

Year built 1981
Location of boat Bradenton Florida
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2009
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I certainly would. She has been a great boat in the nearly year we have had her, although she suffered from chronic neglect.
Gear that's been added dept finder,GPS, VHS radio, updated lighting
Structural or complex improvements If you count sandblasting, epoxy, fairing, barrier coat and a complete paint job, then yes. Replaced all six stay anchors.
The boat's best features Just a fun boat to sail
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. uncomfortable placement of outboard makes starting a pain behind the stern rail.
Sailing characterisitcs a well behaved boat for her size and sail inventory
Motoring characterisitcs no brainer. ez in and out of our basin
Liveability ok for weekends
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) not dealt with them
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any private sale
Other comments Great boat, easy to single hand, ours loves the breeze.
