Review of the Hunter 25.5 by Mike Taylor

Year built 1984
Location of boat Ossining,NY
The boat is sailed on Rivers
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2008
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? For sure ,my first boat ever.Went out sailing a bunch of times this year.
Gear that's been added New 150% jib(got caught in 30-35 mph winds very scary)4" memorey ,one king sizes(made for v-berth and cockpit seats)& one twin size for aft berth.Gps ,CD-AM-FM sterio, four speakers, inflatable three man raft with a 1 1/2 hp air cooled motor,battery,8 hp nissan long shaft 4-stroke motor,2 fenders,6 1/2 gal. gas tank and a small bulge pump
Structural or complex improvements Not yet
The boat's best features E-z to sail solo ,pop-up top,drop-down table, alot of room in mid section , nice size cooler holds lot of beer and a sliding glass door to put your eatables on
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The ladder hurts your feet when climbing back on board.Port hole windows don't drain off after it rains
Sailing characterisitcs Turns on a dime.If you have a breeze its a joy ,if no breeze its still a joy floating with the current. Easy to roll-up jib if you have to
Motoring characterisitcs The only motoring I do is in and out of the marinia
Liveability Spent the night onboard a couple of times. Can't sleep in V-berth(made for one person)My honey don't like the rear berth (I don't mind it)she feels to closed in.So we sleep in the mid section,Just right.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A
Other comments I just love the boat,I can't wait to get out on her again
