Review of the Hunter 260 by Douglas M. Asbury

Year built 2001
Location of boat
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2007
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, I have had a Macgregor 26C before this boat and I really like the room available in this boat. Plus, we live in a community that has races every week. We have found out that this boat is very fast compared to other boats in the 23 to 26 foot range.
Gear that's been added The previous owner equipped this boat pretty well. Nothing added yet.
Structural or complex improvements NONE
The boat's best features The room below and the sailing ability.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The rudder is a little hard to swing down. We have to step on it.
Sailing characterisitcs We were just in a race with 11 other boats and it won.
Motoring characterisitcs Motoring is ok
Liveability The room is unbelievable for a boat of this size. ,We have had eight for an overnight. Kind of cozy, but worth it.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) no experience
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought it from an individual
