Review of the Hunter 25 by Steve

Year built 2007
Location of boat Miami, Florida
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2007
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, Definetly!!! Geat shallow water boat. Great beginner cruiser boat.
Gear that's been added Stereo, two ventilation fans, chartplotter, custom marine plywood storage box/chartplotter mount on pedestal, door stopper on bathroom door.
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features Wheel steering, cockpit layout
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Jibsheet jam cleats are too low to catch sheet, need to install spacer. Fiberglass on bow above tie-down attachment exploded first time off trailer, six inch wound ----void in fiberglass, fixed under warranty, no problems since. Hardto get on trailer centered without hanging keel on bunks.
Sailing characterisitcs Easy to handle up to 15-18 knots wind. Edgy around 15. Excellent pointing despite shoal draft. Sweet dailing boat, easy to sail.
Motoring characterisitcs Connecting the outboard to rudder control would help in close quartes manuevering. Prop walks medium.
Liveability Small spaces. Not much storage. Perfectfor a cooler and a weekend. Not much more than that
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Excellent transaction. No stress. Tiki Watersports in Key Largo ---nice people.
