Review of the Hunter 376 by Randy Clarke

Year built 1997
Location of boat Sarnia Ontario Canada
The boat is sailed on The Great Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 5-6
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2006
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I would buy the 376 again, but with inmast furling.
Gear that's been added I have put a stack pack on and it is great. The boat has lots of room and we have put a alot into the boat, Chartplotter, New Toliet, Anchor and 120 feet chain, Dogger and surround,New lines, Floors have been taken out and Varnished.ETC. I have been going over this boat top to bottom, Hard to get to Impeller, Fuel was pumped out and polished with a Algee Ex Machine.Great boat.
Structural or complex improvements Small leaks from top deck area around solar panel and hatches. We used 3m 4200 around alot of screws.
The boat's best features Alot of room in this model.Walk though tramsom round cockpit, lots of light down below.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The refridgeration has two areas to keep cool, A fan should be placed so the cool air can get into the other side. A hatch should of been installed to get to the impeller.
Sailing characterisitcs From 10 to 30 knots ,10 foot seas.
Motoring characterisitcs I have to motor up a river to get to the lake, the boat would be better with a 3 blade prop.
Liveability Room , Room , Room, friends like to vist for drinks and moves , lots of room for partys.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) No
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any No
