If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Sure thing.  
Gear that's been added SeaLand M28 self-contained head to replace original recirculating head. Origo 4000 non-pressurized alcohol stove to replace original stove. Ariston 4gal water heater to replace original. Shower sump pump (so shower doesn't drain into bilge).  
Structural or complex improvements Nope, not yet.  
The boat's best features Nice, simple, responsive, forgiving, comfortable, stable boat. Easy to sail. Easy to work on. Roomy. Great value for the price.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Usual mast compression post problem (which I'll deal with this winter). Rudder absorbing water (another  
Sailing characterisitcs This is my first year with the boat. So far, light air to 32 knots. Mainly Hudson River with occasional trips to Long Island / Block Island sounds.  
Motoring characterisitcs Motors fine, especially for a 20-year old, 1 cylinder, 12hp engine (original Yanmar 12YSM).  
Liveability Generally, I'm only on the boat for a few days at a time. For that kind of use, it's terrific. Tons of room. Not the best built-ins by today's standards, but more than adequate. Five adults went on a 1 1/2 week trip this spring. Cozy but very manageable. Only major complaint is the icebox, which, as with most sailboats, has next to no insulation.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Very good. My only contact with Hunter has been to call to ask for rigging specs. The info was faxed to me within the hour. The person I spoke with was helpful and pleasant.
