Review of the Hunter 33_77-83 by Rod Harris

Owner bought the boat in 2006  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes... I researched over 900 boats... the design and ease of handling for a 33... she works well on a river.  
Gear that's been added Port lights and safety gear...  
Structural or complex improvements None... None needed...  
The boat's best features My experience is very limited...only boat I have owned or sailed on... very easy to handle singlehanded... love the hull design  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. No problems at this point... will need a bottom job in the next 6/12 months...  
Sailing characterisitcs river winds are inconsistence due to bank higth and treelines... she cruises in very light winds very well and handles 15/20 knots equally as well...  
Motoring characterisitcs we bought the boat 470 river miles and five locks from where we berth her now... never having sailed before my wife and I motored the entire distances... averaging 65 miles per day... took all of 18 gals of diesel... I was great...  
Liveability has all of the comforts of home... good space for two adults...  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Haven't needed to contact Hunter...  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought direct from owner... had talked to a number of dealers from the great lakes and from Maine to Florida wasen't impressed enought to buy from any of them. One in particular close to home had a boat we were interested in and he proceeded to talk down to me due to the fact I told him I knew little to nothing about sailboats... had he thought more about the customer, less about himself... we would have made a deal. Very happy with what we got and how we bought it...  
Other comments Love the design of this Hunter model... don't particular care for the new designs.
