Review of the Hunter 25.5 by chris hettler

Year built 1984
Location of boat erie pa
The boat is sailed on The Great Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2006
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes
Gear that's been added No boat came well equipped. thinking of adding shore power.
Structural or complex improvements no
The boat's best features the aft double berth. large cockpit
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. cockpit has gelcoat cracks hand rails don't have much space for larger fingers to get a grip.
Sailing characterisitcs Just purchased sailed once in 5 knot winds pretty quick on a close reach with only a 100% jib.
Motoring characterisitcs 9.9 mercury pushes ahead about 5 knots reversing a little slow getting going
Liveability comfortable headrooms ok I'm 5'11" I have to duck a little. Good storage v berth could be a little bigger starboard settee is only for sitting its about 5 foot long with no foot recess in the bulkhead.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) no
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any typical broker don't expect much from me much because your not buying a 100,000 plus boat.
