Owner bought the boat in Sail
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. We just spent our first long weekend on the boat docking, mooring and anchoring. Very comfortable. Received numerous compliments.
Gear that's been added Yes. We added davits, a maxi feathering prop,a spare halyard, tri-light top of mast, cushions in the cockpit and on the stern rail seats, raw water deck wash down, second racor fuel filter, second anchor (fortress), radar reflector, hailer and hailer horn, second LP tank, and the boat was a show boat so came with a number of optional add ons including TV's in the main salon and aft cabin, bow thrusters, gen set, ac, and more.
Structural or complex improvements Mianly the Davits that were custom made by Ocean Marine.
The boat's best features The interior volume is terrific. The arch leaving an open stern deck makes use of the deck excellent. The furling main makes sailing much easier. The bow thrusters are incredible. The aft birth with the memory foam mattress is extremely comfortable. My wife is in love with the coffee maker and the extra top loading fridge.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Some of the floor boards rock. Getting on and off from the dock or a launch is tough because the step is so high. The toe rail should be a couple of inches wider with a non slip at the gates. The genoa furling line is a tripping hazzard because it crosses the gate a couple of inches off the deck. There should be a deck rail on bothsides forward of the mast for safety. The lower spreader is swept back so far the main sail won't go out far enough for a good downwind sail. THERE SHOULD BE A GRAB BAR ON THE BIMINI STEEL JUST FORWARD OF THE STEP FOR EASY ENTRY ON THE BOAT TO AVOID USING THE CANVAS AS A HOLDING POINT. The instructions should clearly locate on the boat some important equipment which is only described in the manual. A good example is the Macerator switch for forward and aft. The manual says you have one but does not say where. The door lock on the aft shower can only be opened by pulling on the top of the shower door. The aft bath door does not lock when open. When sailing it swings back and forth. Towel racks and hooks in the aft bath would be nice. The bimini should have a second window aft of the one that is there so that the traveller can be seen without leaving the cockpit.
Sailing characterisitcs Sailing from a beat to a broad reach is easy and comfortable. Down wind is a problem because of the swept spreaders. The boat points surpising well. It does bounce around a lot in waves, particularly those left by power boat wakes.
Motoring characterisitcs At first we had a problem since the propeller installed at the factory was undersized for the 75 HP engine we had. It should have an 18" prop. We could not get beyond 5 KTS at 3400 RPM with the fixed 16" prop. When we installed the 18" max prop, we were able to get 7.5 KTS at 2800 RPM. The engine runs quietly and operates very well.

Other comments More to come. The boat is only 2 weeks old.
