Review of the Hunter Liberty by Sands Herrin

Year built 2006
Location of boat Brunswick, GA
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2006
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I would certainly buy the boat again. A great little boat!
Gear that's been added The boat came stocked pretty well. I added a block for the halyard to assist raising the sail.
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features great rower, fast and manuverable sailboat, will move in a ghost of wind, points fairly well, self bailing, and won't sink the quility of build is top notch, a very pretty, traditional looking boat
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. no problems
Sailing characterisitcs The boat is tender under sail, but she is a nice little, slippery jewel. She will excellerate and leave a wake. Crew weight has a huge influence on performance and must be kept fairly centered when sailing solo. The sail and rigging is top quality and suits the boat well. The Liberty points surprizingly well. The boat rows like a dream. Tracking and glide are exceptional for this size boat.
Motoring characterisitcs no experience
Liveability She's a small boat.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Snug Harbor in Buford, Georgia were very helpfull.
Other comments I'm very satisfied. Hunter shipped the boat directly to my house.
