The boat's best features It's the right size for us. We can have 10 people on board for a day sail yet it is perfect for us two on the overnighters. The boat is a pleasure to handle, sail and moor.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Some crazing of the gelcoat, one stanchion base had to be re-glassed. Had the bottom epoxied, Hunter participated due to minor blistering.
Sailing characterisitcs Other than running, the boat sails beautifully. Our furling main is a joy to use when the wind picks up and in heavy blows we do nicely with the genoa only. Trimming the main minimizes heel, weather-helm and makes or a faster, more pleasant sail. When running before the wind, the main blankets the Genny and hits the spreaders. Just trim the main sheet...
Motoring characterisitcs The boat came with a 3-bladed "Vari-Prop" which makes reversing a breeze. We back into the dock so we can utilize the walk-thru transom and this prop makes the boat back-up like a car. Motoring under way is no problem, the only issue is ventilating the engine compartment, it tends to get hot. We just open a side access panel to allow air circulation on prolonged passages.
Liveability The aft cabin is on the tight side and not ventilated well but it is perfectly adequate for our trips.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
Other comments The 3 tank gauges (WM?) were very unreliable and I replaced them with a Snake River System which has performed flawlessly.
