Review of the Hunter 23.5 by Thomas

Year built 1995
Location of boat Lake Wallenpaupack, PA
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 5-6
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2005
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. For the money, its definetly worth it.
Gear that's been added I have added a stereo/CD player.
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features I like the big open cockpit. Sharp looking boat, lots of room inside. Ease of sailing. Hope someday to sail to Bimini with Conch Cruisers.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The trailer is horrible, rusted and very unstable when towing. A closed head would be nice.
Sailing characterisitcs As mentioned, very easy to sail.
Motoring characterisitcs The 8hp 2-stroke Mariner that came with the boat does a decent job. Would prefer a 4 -stroke.
Liveability I have 4 kids and two adults who mostly sail and stay overnite. The kids are ages 10 - 14, when they start sprouting, I'll need a bigger boat!
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Fine, no problems.
Other comments Like I said, its a good boat for the money.
