Review of the Hunter 36_80-82 by Peter Henneberry

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Most definately,she's fast and easily single-handed.  
Gear that's been added 16-mile JRC mark 2 radar,standard horizon c-155 chart plotter,standard horizon quest DSC-VHF,4 new 850amp marine gel batteries,new 2 burner propane stove,new stereo and cockpit speakers,5 solar panels,4-10 watters,1 40-watter,new dodger canvas 13 in. color TV,DVD-MP3 player,300-watt inverter,1200-watt inverter  
Structural or complex improvements No,she didn't need any. For a 25 year old boat she was in exellent shape.  
The boat's best features ease of handling single handed,once I haul my sail cover off and get my main up I don't have to get out from behind the wheel for anything other than a fresh glass of rum.Room and layout down below is great.Her shoal draft at 4ft-7inches is a definate asset.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The only problem I've had so far were leaks around my chain plates  
Sailing characterisitcs Heading into rough seas she tends to pound and she's got a little weather helm every now and then which is easy to get around by easing off on the sails a little.When your running with it, even with rolling breakers on your ass,she takes it like a duck  
Motoring characterisitcs In calm seas she motors along fine at 6.5 knots but I find she's a little under powered in dirty weather with only 20 HP-30 would be much better  
Liveability Livability is comfort in itself

Other comments So far I only got about 2000 miles on it since I bought it, but I am very happy with it.
