Review of the Hunter 19_93-96 by Curtis Johnson

Year built 1994
Location of boat Alberta, Canada
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1995
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I'd buy the boat if I could get it from a different dealer
Gear that's been added Depth finder, Sail covers, Furling system, Lazy Jacks
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features Nice large cabin, very predictable in operation
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
Sailing characterisitcs
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability Would be fairly cramped but O.K. for a weekend
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any My boat was bought from Spinnaker Yachts of Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. There was an interior light missing at the time of purchase. I am still waiting for it. The dealer seems to think that B.S. stands for "better service". I have never been so frustrated over such a small thing, It has so far cost him the sale of a furling system, zodiac and an 8 h.p. motor. I am thinking on a new h24 but will have to seek out a dealer in another province.
