Review of the Hunter 19_93-96 by Brad

Year built 1994
Location of boat Kerr Lake, NC
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2005
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? No way. I am very disappointed in the quality. If you look closely, you can almost see through the fiberglass hull. Built like a cheap bath tub. Looks nice in photos, though. Hull blisters.
Gear that's been added cd player
Structural or complex improvements Tried to stretch it but that didn't work. 19'is too small even for day sailing if you have more than 2 onboard.
The boat's best features Looks pretty in a picture.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Hull blisters
Sailing characterisitcs Fine for sailing on lakes as long as the wind doesn't get over 10 knots.
Motoring characterisitcs Motors better than it sails.
Liveability Yeah right.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Hunter WHO?
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought from an individual. Looked at a marina and was scared off by the price tags.
Other comments Cheap. Better go with a Catalina or an older Oday.
