Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features Master stateroom The boat is very well designed. Systems are easy to access, and there is a lot of room to work on the engine and the electrical panel.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The refrigerator / freezer box. The top of the boxes were not level so the lids would not close tightly. This would cause warm air to enter and frost up the freezer coil in a day.
Sailing characterisitcs Because it is a center cockpit, it doesn't feel like you are moving as quickly as you are. However, when you get beside someone with a comparable boat, you find you are really not doing too badly. At about 13 kts, the boat really starts to move; at about 18 a little reef feels good - especially with the gals on board.
Motoring characterisitcs Beats anything with a stick.
Liveability Absolutely perfect. An island queen with plenty of headroom, plenty of storage inside and large lazaretes on the stern. An added cockpit enclosure adds another room on top for fall or spring sailing. Double bed in the forward cabin for guests.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I have only called with questions a couple of times, and they answered them while I held on.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any The boat I bought was located at a dealer in New England, but I bought the boat from Tidewater Yachts in Havre de Grace, MD. The dealer in New England screwed up everything they touched. The boat was half comissioned. I called Tidewater and they said don't worry about it - we'll make it right. And they did! They didn't moan and groan about it either!
Other comments Well constructed and well designed. I love it.
