Review of the Hunter 376 by Gabor Meszaros

Year built 1997
Location of boat Point Roberts Washington
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2004
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I would most definately buy this boat again. We find it to be a comfortable cruiser, very spacious and accomodating for just a couple or when guests are invited along. We love the roomy cockpit. Fun to sail or motor.
Gear that's been added None.
Structural or complex improvements No.
The boat's best features The cockpit and spacious aft cabin with adjoining head. The amount of head room in the main saloon is very comfortable for the tall sailors.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The large main is a little difficult to handle at times especially when the wind is gusting. However with some practice we are getting used to handling this.
Sailing characterisitcs This boat sails well at 5 to 15 knots. Turn on the Auto Pilot and stereo and the experience becomes sheer relaxation and bliss!
Motoring characterisitcs Fabulous, the boat is easy to handle and when the tides are right we almost feel that we have a motor cruiser.
Liveability Very roomy and comfortable. Lots of natural light on this boat and space for almost anything.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Never dealt directly with this boat. In the past I needed windows for a 34' Hunter. I was given necessary and accurate information at the time of enquiry.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Skipper Cress Yacht Sales in Annacortes was our broker for this boat. They were very professional and easy to deal with.
Other comments Highly recommended.
