Review of the Hunter 28.5 by FRED ANDERSEN/CATHY O'COIN

Year built 1987
Location of boat LAKE OF THE WOODS, ONTARIO CANADA
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1997
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? ABSOLUTELY....THERE IS LOTS OF ROOM ON THIS BOAT FOR 4 ADULTS AND WE HAVE HAD THREE ADULTS AND FOUR KIDS ON THE BOAT OVERNIGHT FOR THREE DAYS.
Gear that's been added 165 GENOA, BARBEQUE, NEW SHEETS, CD PLAYER
Structural or complex improvements DIDN'T NEED ANY
The boat's best features YANMAR DIESEL, LAYOUT OF THE AFT CABIN AND HEAD, LOTS OF STORAGE SPACE
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. WINDOWS LEAK, WATER SYSTEM HAS SPRUNG A LEAK, TRAVELLER IS IN THE WAY IN THE COCKPIT
Sailing characterisitcs EXCELLENT BOAT IN ROUGH WATER, HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IN A COUPLE OF BIG STORMS...ROAD THEM OUT EXTREMELY WELL. sAILS BEST IN BIG WINDS
Motoring characterisitcs DOESN'T COST MUCH FOR DIESEL....WE SAIL MORE THAN WE MOTOR
Liveability VERY COMFORTABLE, GREAT...WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO BE ABLE TO DROP THE TABLE DOWN TO MAKE A LARGE BED
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) HAVEN'T YET
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any ANGUS YACHT BROKERS FROM TORONTO ONTARIO....VERY PROFESSIONAL VERY PLEASENT EXPERIENCE. WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE
