Review of the Hunter 36 by TJ Green

Owner bought the boat in 2004  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. It's an excellent boat with lots of room and very easy to sail.  
Gear that's been added Anchor windlass, GPS, depth/wind electronics, in-mast furling, and inverter.  
Structural or complex improvements Bow thrusters and replaced the toilet wiht a vacu-flush toilet connect to the fresh water supply system. Also upgraded the battery bank with two gel batteries for house systems and a separate engine battery.  
The boat's best features Ease of sailing, comfortable interior.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The deck has several stress fractures that were easily repaired by the dealer - Tidewater Marina in Harve de Grace. Still having problems with the engine stop button.  
Sailing characterisitcs Great sailing in both light and heavy winds. The boat will easily do 7-8 knots in winds greater than 15 knots.  
Motoring characterisitcs Easy to motor, very fuel effecient if you keep the boat running in the recommended rpm range. Only problem is that damn stop button on the engine. The dealer has tried to fix it once, we're about to go a second round on this. But I have confindence in the dealership.  
Liveability Great boat for two adults that plan to stay on board over a weekend or longer. The boat is marketed as being able to sleep six. Six people would be very tight on this size boat.

The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Purchase the boat at Tidewater Marina in Harve de Grace, MD - excellent dealership - no problems so far.
