Review of the Hunter 25_73-83 by Tom Price

Year built 1982
Location of boat ST Thomas USVI
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? Yes
Owner bought the boat in 2005
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? It's hard to find good used boats in the VI. This just popped up when a friend moved from the islands to the mainland - not a whole lot of experience with her yet but she seems to be sweet. and YES I would buy another just like her.
Gear that's been added NOt yet, but soon
Structural or complex improvements She is do to be brought out for a haul over and complete check out. Will see what needs to be done then
The boat's best features She seems solid and a dream to sail.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Don't know yet, will know a lot more when she is out of the water.
Sailing characterisitcs Seems easy to sail, but doesn't point all that well.
Motoring characterisitcs Goes forever on a tank of gas
Liveability close but comfortable, she's anchored at present but wiil be on a mooring soon.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) No experience
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A
Other comments The internet is a wealth of info on owners, their likes and dislikes. It is a big help in looking for similar problems.
