Review of the Hunter 27_75-84 by chris

Year built 1982
Location of boat san francisco bay
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2004
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? absolutely!
Gear that's been added self tending jib with jib sheet and downhaul led aft
Structural or complex improvements none needed
The boat's best features this boat is well laid out, heartily built, easy to sail, and just plain fun
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. would be nice if it had a deeper bilge.
Sailing characterisitcs this boat sails very well in stiff winds, handles 20 knots and asks for more!
Motoring characterisitcs 1 lung yanmar really has only enough gusto for leaving and returning to the slip, but it has been extremely reliable and fuel efficient
Liveability we only use it for day sailing but is so roomy inside would be very comfortable for weekending or short cruising trips
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) have not needed to deal directly with Hunter. Any time I needed info about the boat or repairs I logged onto hunterowners.com and everyone has been extremely helpful in answering my questions
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any purchased from a private party
Other comments We previously owned a catalina 22 and the quality and design of this Hunter far exceed Catalina
