Review of the Hunter 33_77-83 by Reed Lyons

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes.  
Gear that's been added Solid boom vang, feathering prop, desiel/kerosine stove, replaced alcohol galley stove with propane camp stove.Added storage where old oven was before. dripless shaft coupling.  
Structural or complex improvements Replaced deck at cockpit. Original binacle installation was reinforced with plywood. Now solid fiberglass. Replaced mast step on deck. Original installation was reinforced with plywood. Now soild fiberglass.  
The boat's best features Yanmar 2QM20 is a solid engine. Boat is very fast.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Electrical wiring has been problematic, but then, its 25 years old. The chemical head is has too small of a capacity for extended crusing.  
Sailing characterisitcs Boat is stable and rugged. I've crused the San Juan Islands in her for 11 years.  
Motoring characterisitcs Well powered with the 2QM20 Yanmar.  
Liveability Lived aboard for one year. OK for 0ne, two weeks maximum for two.
